CHECK-IN/ON-SITE REGISTRATION WILL BE AVAILABLE AT CLEVELAND VELODROME ON ON FRIDAY, SEPT. 7, 2018 FROM 7:00-7:45 P.M.
This race known as the “night of thunder,” literally has you changing the weather patterns. In a 166-meter Olympic style steel and wooden track, you will be whipping past the competition with tornado like speed.*
Plan to arrive early to catch the beginner class Track 101 and stay late to experience competitive racing that shakes Cleveland Velodrome's Slavic Village like thunder.
To complete the evening, there will be live music, food and beer (available for purchase) in addition to racing. Just a note: Spectators entering the infield will have a $10 cover at the door (cash or charge are accepted).
Although we claim that this race can change weather patterns – we’ve been advised to mention that if there is inclement weather, racing will be rescheduled to another day during the NEOCycle weekend. Harsh weather, but still down to chill? Not to worry – you’re in Cleveland – we party rain or shine (we’ll just continue inside).
*The Velodrome features a 45-degree embankment in the corners and a 15-degree embankment on the front and back straights. How’s that for a rush?
IS THIS RACE USAC SANCTIONED?
Are you a competitive cyclist? Because you should be! Velodrome and Edgewater Cyclocross are sanctioned. USAC licensing information is listed below:
