Phil Tesar joined the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission staff in 2012, serving as the Sponsorship Manager for the 2013 National Senior Games. In his current role, he oversees all Marketing & Promotions for all Sports Commission events.
Tesar joined the Sports Commission staff after four years with the Cleveland Gladiators of the Arena Football League. During his time with the Gladiators, Tesar held several titles, including Director of Communications& Football Operations, Assistant General Manager and General Manager. He led the team’s business transition to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Quicken Loans arena organization in January, 2012, working closely with its executive leadership team.
Prior to the Gladiators, Tesar has experience across a wide range of sports teams and leagues, including MiLB, MLB, NFL, NBA and the AFL. In 2006, he was a Public Relations intern with the Houston Astros during Spring Training in Kissimmee, FL, and assisted the Dominican Republic team’s PR efforts during the World Baseball Classic while they trained at Osceola County Stadium.
He is a graduate of Hiram College with his BA in Education and resides in Westlake with his wife Natalie.
