Marketing Manager - Created Events - View Job Description
The position is responsible for developing and implementing marketing plans designed to increase athlete participation in two annual events (Continental Cup and NEOCycle) that are owned and operated by the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission. The events attract local, national and international audiences and will require creative marketing and sales strategies to meet annual participation goals.
Greater Cleveland Sports Commission Internship Program
The Greater Cleveland Sports Commission operates one of Northeast Ohio's top internship programs. Interns perform intergral tasks and projects that aid the organization in operating exceptional events. The goal of the internship program is to provide a meaningful and educational experience in the sports and events industry. The program has twice earned The Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education (NOCHE) EXPY for top small company internship program in the region.

Compensation
The summer internship program requires a minimum of 40 hours per week. The spring and fall sessions require 20 hours per week. If the student is receiving college credit for the internship, the college or university will determine work hours, up to 40 hours per week. The Sports Commission is flexible in terms of exact work hours, but would require a loose schedule to be created in advance. Due to the nature of our business, events may fall on holidays and weekends. Depending on the extent of participation in these events, event comp time may be given, and holidays may be used on another day. There is no provision for overtime pay.
Transportation and Parking
Transportation and parking are not provided or reimbursable. Interns ma use the RTA system (schedules and routes can be found at www.riderta.com) which is located in Tower City and is about a 5 minute walk from our office. Or you may drive and park for approximately $7 per day in a nearby parking lot. Attached garage parking is also available for $85 a month, and requires a $50 refundable deposit for the garage door opener.
Evaluation
Interns will be evaluated in the middle and at the end of the term. These evaluations are meant to be a tool for reviewing progress and focus. These evaluations will also help to determine if the job duties and working conditions match the intern’s interests and expectations while allowing the GCSC to determine whether the intern’s qualifications, job performance, and work habits meet GCSC standards. In addition, the intern will have the opportunity to evaluate the Sports Commission on the quality of the internship program.

Event Team Application
